Bob Crawford Sunset Trophy race

With the full support of the Crawford family, i would like to announce the running of the
Bob Crawford Sunset Trophy race

where - BMR (osulivans beach, south australia)
when - Saturday the 13th of April 2013
entry - $5 (to run in both classes)

Track available from 12:30pm for practice, racing starts at 2pm

Everyone is invited

This is being held as a fun event. No take home prizes or trophys will be given.
There will be a perpetual Bob Crawford Sunset sheild awarded to the winner of the "open" class.
It is intended that clear sunset bodys will be handed out to each participant, this will depend on numbers.


general rules for Bob Crawford Sunset Trophy race

Drivers and marshals
- all drivers and marshals are reminded that the BMR track is within private property and all laws and by-laws apply
(if asked to leave the property, for any reason, you shall do so immediately with minimal disturbance to other patrons and
neighbours......as per law)
- no abuse or swearing, etc will be tolerated from either drivers, marshals, or spectators

Cars/ scrutineering
- any car may be checked at any time, by officials or track owner, as to whether it complies to its class rules.
(general and class rules are specific but some leaniancy will be given at the discretion of officials/track owner)
- all competing cars must have daylight showen between chassis, body, gear, ect and tech board
(if it scrapes the track, it is off immediately - by the order of track owner/officials)
- the tech board used for all cars will be flat and not simulate the hieght of recessed braid ( although the
track braid is recessed 0.2mm-1.0mm in most areas). the only parts of the car that may touch the tech board are the 4 wheels
and the guide.
- with the exception of the guide, nothing may protrude outside of the body when the car is viewed from above (rear wheels
may protrude no more than 1mm, from the outside of rear wheel arch on body, for all 1/32 stockers)
- no part of the chassis or track may be seen through the windows of the body
- no car should have any sharp edges that could injur anyone, For this purpose, sanding and/or rounding is permitted

Controller
- any controller may be used as long as it doesnt:
a/ damage the track or power supply
b/ interfere with other competitors
c/ increase voltage or current to track

Black Flag
- a "black flag" may be invoked, by officials/track owner, if any car/equipment is causing continual deslots and/or
crashes or is hindering any other competitor or sounds like it is scraping the track. if a black flag is used, the
offending car/equipment must be removed. once the car/equipment is fixed, it may be returned to the track.


THE TRACK OWNER'S DESCISION IS FINAL ON ALL MATTERS!


Class rules for Bob Crawford Sunset Trophy race

Class: 1/32 scale stocker


Body
- any unmodified plastic or resin 1/32nd scale "stocker" body, american muscle car and classic (pre 1975) touring car body
- any mounting methods and devices may be used
- body may be sanded/trimmed to a minimum for chassis and wheel clearance
- all bodys must have a hard plastic interior, incorperating scale head arms and steering wheel

Chassis
- any
- oilite type bushings only (no ball bearings)

Guide
- only one guide per car
- any type and material may be used
- maximum 2.6cm long
- maximum width inserted into slot 2mm
- any guide clips may be used
- any braid

Leadwire
- any
- any lights may be added
- any currunt carry device, between motor and guide, may be used as long as it doesnt increase voltage or current to car

Front Wheels
- any
- all front wheels must have rubber or "O" ring tires that contact racing surface
- front wheels do not have to be in contact with racing surface, but when the cars is rocked side to side on tech block,
the rubber or "O" ring must contact the racing surface before and prevent any of the chassis or body contacting racing
surface

Rear Wheels
- any rim
- only MJK or AMR hard rubber tires may be used (if you need tires and are having trouble getting them, message me and
hopefully i can help)
- any dimensions
- no products or tire treatment at all may be used on tires at any time

Axels
- any

Gears
- any
- any ratio

Motor
- only unmodified Scalextric or Scalextric black stripe, SCX RX-42b, SCX RX-41,
Pioneer typhoon I or II (18000 RPM@12 volts only), standard Careera, Standard Revel/monogram motors
- Steel chassis', only, may use unmodified Plafit Pointer motor (must have original printing on can)
- SCX motors, only, may have endbell removed and armature com trued
- SCX motors, only, may have any motor brushes and springs used (may not be shunted in any way)


ANYTHING NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED IN THESE RULES OR GENERAL RULES SHALL BE DEEMED ILLEGAL


Class: open

Body
- any Sunset racing shells body
- no wingcars or wedges (cyclones, hurricanes, tempests, etc)
- body may be reinforced or strengthened in any way on the underside
- no protruding wings, diaplanes, etc
- must be fully painted and have windows left clear or tinted
- vents, scoops, etc may be cut out to resemble the real thing
- front wheel arches must be clear or cut out
- any method or devices may be used to mount the body in place

Chassis
- any (including any flexi or wingcar chassis'/components)

Guide
- only one guide per car
- maximum 2.6cm long
- maximum width inserted into slot 2mm
- any guide clips may be used
- any braid

Leadwire
- any

Front Wheels
- any

- positioning on chassis may be altered but atleast some of the front wheels must be visible through the clear/cut out
section, for front wheels, through body

surface

Rear Wheels
