2016 KING WILLYS 27L & OMO SERIES ~ ROUND 5 ~ JULY 9

Post by Pontiac Jack »

I'd better post this before Bruce starts bloody whinging  What a sook!!
(Gee, I got that in early!)
Round 5 of the 2016 series has been run and won.
Round 5???? Yep,The Brock doesn't count in the series.

27L was up first.
8 of us qualified and Bruce just wandered in when he felt like it!
He tried to blame the plumber, nobody bought that for a second!

Rick TQ'd at 2.16.
We ran one heat of 4 and the other of 5.
In the first race,Stuart looked to be on his way to over 600 laps but,got caught out by the "chicane" a few times and had to settle for 597.
Geoff had Bruce hot on his heels in the 2nd race. Bruce even took the lead in bracket 5 :o :o ,but at the end of the seventh, his car dropped way off the pace
and he didn't make it to the 8th bracket.
You should never laugh at others misfortune, but,it's Bruce so...
I think Brad said it best when Bruce asked him where he finished and he replied "Ahead of you!"
Geoff,in the meantime, just scraped past Stuart's total to snatch the win by one lap!
Dave was rubbed out for using 2 cars. Naughty boy!! :o

TQ. Rick. 2.1617

8 racers qualified for OMO.
Brad was looking good for TQ with a 2.05 shot, until Russell laid down a 2.03.
What a meanie!!!
Geoff took out heat 1 with a solid 780 laps.
In heat 2,Russell took an early lead, but there was only about 5 laps between the four of us. Rick had trouble and dropped about 50 laps, then Russell, who was looking at a total around 840, dropped virtually an entire bracket. This left Stuart out in front with me struggling with major brush issues in 2nd but losing ground.
Into the final bracket. Stuart was looking the goods,I was 15 laps behind and Rick was another 45 laps back.
Stuart struck trouble early in the bracket and started dropping laps,I was just trying to circulate and Rick and Russ were absolutely flying.
The end couldn't come soon enough and I managed to do a "Bradbury" and fall across the line for the win.
Stuart hung on for 2nd and Rick took close to 30 laps out of our lead to grab 3rd.
