Old Chassis

As a side Note,..Interestingly, the Absolute 'Gun' Chassis,..at 'Waitara' as it was called Waaay Back on the Original 10 Lane Flat Track, when 26D's were the way to go and Only a Few were running Small Cans, was a Chassis design by a Real Big Scary Guy called Terry I think, that Basically Worked Exactly like a Flexi !!

Quite a Few of the Club guys ran them, Like Kevin the Owner, I Really Wish I still had Mine, it Worked Great !!

Piano Wire Main Rails with a drop arm and Pans of Stainless steel that were hung by Piano wire through tubes on the Main Rails, with the Fronts Mounted off the Pans, so the Lot could all wobble about in a similar fashion to what Flexi's do !!

In Fact, managed to Place 3rd in My Very First NSWMRRA Race with Fox and Wayne !!,.. with That Chassis, running My Own 26D rewinds !!
....come to think of it I wish I still Had my 26D stuff !! Always liked 26D's. :D
So there often Really Isn't Anything New Under the Sun !!

Hey Stoo

Speaking of plafit racing I have just started a new series that Shane is running at the old AREA3 (now slotcarshed)

Heres the rules

Grab a model kit, any model kit, glue the bumbers bonnet and windows in, mount it on a chassis, any chassis stick any motor in it and go racing

Its great fun and no rules to take the fun out of it and it looks awesome with a bunch of mopars and US muscle cars sliding around the track

The only complaints are "the tracks to grippy i cant get my car to drift round the whole corner

I love plafit racing and while I admire the workmanship of the seriuos guys I rarely have the time to prepare

I take it you are talking 1/24th? PlaFits or Any chassis ??

Yeah,.. I Can 'Dig it',..but Hard body racing just isn't me ,... :D

Plus they ain't cheap and there are So many Extra 'bits' you need to make em go,..it's like a Complete Science!,..lol

And I'd Have to run a Scoeler,..just to be Different,..lol

Pete, those cars would be great for the Hornsby 'Vintage' racing.
You've just described 2 of my cars.

If you want to get some sideways action happenin, put some AMR/MJK rubber tyres on the back, and hold on.

Stoo, or maybe a MoMo frame for long wheelbase Stockers.
:)

Hey Steve

Unfortunatly they wouldent be allowed to run at hornsby as my plafit runs a 3mm axle as suppplied and I believe HSC requires it to be changed to 1/8th (WTF) plus I would have to remove the standard ball races and replace with oilites

Not to mention I dont have any wheel inserts

Shane keeps it pretty simple with chassis ranging from plafit to HR to MJK to cut down and modified flexi chassis

Motors fange from fox to 16d's and surprisingly we had a buch of different cars finish within 4 or 5 laps tonight

Better be quite now before someone notices were talking model cars in the retro section

I cannot thank Pete Enough.

We started to paint a couple of sections yesterday and we plan to put it together the next friday and Saturday.

Paving paint is the paint of choice and we will sand it smooth(ish) when its all together.

I cant wait to have it done.
