Want Photos of OLD Waitara Tracks !!

Hi Guys, I'm Seriously looking for & Interested in getting Hold of ANY Photos that anyone may have of the OLD 'Original' Tracks that were built by Kevin Thurston when Waitara Raceway started Waaay back in the 1960's.

Sadly, I have NOT been able to find ANY Photos of the Original 10 Lane FLAT Track & the ONLY photos I have of the Banked track are of it in various stages of Demolition, when the track area was being modified to have the later Garry J tracks installed when it became HSC,.. (after the Peter Carolin Era).

I Know the 10 Lane Track ended up being purchased and Installed at a Raceway out near Campbelltown, (Near Lurneah Station I believe), that also had a New track by Kim Axton.
So if anyone has any Pics of it when it was there That Would atleast be Better than what I have Now !!,..LOL

If Only we All Had Mobiles that could take pictures back then LOL

Sadly it would seem NO one has come forward with Any photos, here or on the other forums a similar request was made.

If it was today, Every 'Man and his Dog', would have a gazillion pics ..... on their Phone,..

Seemingly existent ONLY in a few peoples, ... 'Memories'

Oh WOW !! ... Fantastic Matt' ... Thanks heaps for that

So many of us will remember walking past that 'banked' turn as we walked into the raceway as young teenagers
Couple of 'faces' I know there,... Bevan Halloran and John Amundsen ... a few others look 'familiar' but am unable to put names to the faces.

Sometimes you also had to remember to duck as you walked past that banked turn to avoid the odd car that "launched" over the bank...
The track ran in the opposite direction at one time - I can't recall if the direction being reversed had anything to do with human safety

As for the race meet captured above, I believe it was a NSWMRRA Flexi-Kar final circa 1989.

Left to right are : Christian Cave, Matt Kelaher, Jason Kerr, Roger Ford, Bevan Halloran, Len Cave (looks like he's doing some sort of pre-final scrutineering), Wayne Baxter, John Amundsen, Tom Walker (RIP).

* Word on the street is Wayne Baxter and Ian McKelvie may have had a scrap that day

Jason Kerr looks remarkably like Charlie Frost in that pic but thinking about it, he probably wouldn't have been racing then, or in that class.

I would not have recognized Wayne !!
