I should explain the wings on the F1's. Only Geoff and I had F1's with us and they didn't like the "green" track surface at all. Just for a laugh,I pulled a spoiler off a wing car body, stuck it on,and to everyones amazement it worked. My car picked up 3/10's and Geoff's picked up 4/10's. This put us into the D3 time zone. The only person brave enough to take us on was Bruce. As you can see from the results posted above,it was bloody close at the end.

Thanks to King Willy's for a great arvo of racing and a heap of thrills.spills and chuckles!!

Cheers,PJ

I should add that this was the first real outing on the smaller track, dubbed "The Williamstown Brown",and during the afternoon we tried running all sorts of stuff on it.
Standard flexi sedans/V8 tourers made for some extremely close, fast racing on the tight layout. Lapping in the 4.3-4.5 second range.
My prototype Aussie Retro Pro/Post '70 Can-Am was in the 3.9-4.0 range.

With the upcoming adjustments to KW's Blue King, the Williamstown Brown will make a great alternative for a few weeks over summer.

Thanks Geoff and all the others for a great afternoons entertainment.
A real retro track that I don't have to travel to with a packed lunch.
With my winnings in KW dollars can you order a container of ability ( a BIG container)
See you Wed night for the last super race before Xmas
Happy Motoring

Nice track.

Which way do the cars go past the driver's panel?
Either way looks like fun.

Cars run from left of pic to right. Down the front straight into the sweeper.
The radius on the sweeper tightens up as you go through it.
The camber in the donut goes from slightly negative as you enter to flat at the crossover.
It makes for a deceptively tight and tricky little track.
Thanks for the cut and shut on the pics.

Yep!
Geoff saved the Porsche,Brock XU-1 and the other one....er ....(Jack BareBum?) many years ago.
They are very delicate as they were painted on chipboard almost 40 years ago. I think the Brock is OK but a bit tatty, but the third is a real mess.

Are you going to come and run Retros at King Willy's on Sunday John?

Andy/John,

Garry Lyons got the three paintings when he bought the Quickslot King Track, btw the "other one" is a Ferrari.

They were all at his raceway in Temple Drive Thomastown and when he closed down around 1983 I acquired them and have had them ever since.

Geoff

P.S. hope to see both of you at KW on Sunday.
