2011 APC

Post by stoo23 »

For those that may be unaware, the Rules etc for the 2011 APC have been 'Posted' on the ASCRA Home page.

See Here;
http://ascra.com.au/

May I suggest that those of you interested in running in the 1/32 Modern GT and 1/24th Group C Classes to take Careful Note of and peruse the New Rules Carefully, as there Are a Few 'Notable' Changes. Which will undoubtedly require Many cars to be Rebuilt/Adjusted, (especially compared to the Local HSC requirements).

The 1/24th Historics Class is once again requiring the use of "10" tooth pinions! and the 114mm Guide Lead length (as measured from the Back of the Rear Axle to Centre of Guide Flag Post).

Strangely, there is No 1/24th Formula 1 Class this time.

Hmm,..somewhat strangely,..if one Now clicks on the link for the APC on the ASCRA Home page, it takes you to the series of pages previously used for the Last APC in 2010,.. ??? Along with all the Old rules etc,..

Methinks an error has occurred!

Wonder why the internal link was changed? Especially as a lot of the info there is incorrect for the upcoming APC at HSC.

EDIT; after mentioning this to GaryJ, Werner is attending to the matter. :)

Hi Geoff,..seemingly Not.

I checked the ASCRA Main site,..only to find the APC pages have disappeared!

There was a Section there for the Results and even though I managed to find the relevant pages,..so far no results have been put up.
See here; http://www.aplafitc.com.au/index.php?op ... &Itemid=34

In fact, there is Precious little 'posted' anywhere about the APC.
Jim started a 'thread' over at Ausslot, perhaps something may appear there.
See here; http://www.auslot.com/forums/index.php? ... hips-2011/

If I can get hold of a copy of the results, I will 'post' them here.

A bit Odd really eh?

Kim Axton won the historic Can Am race, I TQ'd  but the Queenslanders wiped the floor with me  . They sure know how to drive these things. Big thanks to Wayne for helping me with the car set-up. Maybe next year.........................

And where were you Stoo :( ???????

Ohh,..Chuckie,..Don't get me started,..lol

My decision to actually Race in the recent APC was made very late and required quite a bit of re-working and setup of my cars.

I had a particuarly arduous week of work, which had a couple of very long days with very early starts, which meant some late hours work on the cars.

After practice during the week I was very satisfied I had Extremely competitive cars in both Historics and Division Two Modern GT, my Porsche 917, turning the fastest time of any of the cars on track during the lead up, so was feeling quietly confident.

Although,..the thread in the chassis holding the motor bracket on my Porka, 'Stripped' (almost) on Friday, requiring a complete Re-build to replace and an unfortunate accident in testing the Div 2 car left me with a damaged Aston Martin body also requiring relatively extensive repairs and re-setting of the chassis, which meant I ended up having a Very late night on Friday.

I set the Alarm on my Mobile, as I usually do and actually had it on the bed next to my pillow,...and,..managed to Sleep Right through it and the Numerous Phone calls made to me by both Wayne and Kelly early in the morning, as I was intending to pick Wayne's daughter Dianna up and take her to the track !!!

I Eventually awoke at 11.45 am !!!,..Guess I Must have been tired eh!!??

I Couldn't believe it !! and am still annoyed about missing those races, as I was really looking forward to having a good tussle with the likes of yourself and Kim,..let alone Fox !! and others.

There you Go,...Edit made.

No intention of offence, on a Personal level !!
Especially after 40 Years! as you say.

I think I Have and Do make Many More Positive remarks in general about the 'Current' Situation. :)
I would have imagined that would have been 'Understood'. :)
;) :)
