Re: Is it retros this sat night

Wayne told me that Cody has to have an operation to remove his gall bladder which is unusual for someone Cody's age. Apparently it has caused him a lot of trouble lately but it is a bit unfortunate as he has only recently started a new job as an apprentice. I hope Cody can get back into racing quick...

Re: Hornsby Slot Cars

While the fast track at Hornsby Slot Cars is well known, the road circuit track would not be all that familiar to many but it is now the track where D3 cars are raced. The track is a Gary Johnson "golden oldie", a bit over 20 years old and still in very good condition. The track was slight...

Real Men[tm] build sidewinders !

None of these poofy anglewinders or old hat inlines trying to imitate automotive design, when a man has to do what a man has to do, a REAL [tm] sidewinder is what you need. Triple 14 guage rail design, custom built rear end with precision brass bearings and a K&S piano wire rear axle make for an...

Re: Peter Bryant passes away

Interestingly enough I recently went looking for some photos of a 1969 TI and found a good one on Bryant's own web site.

Sad to hear he has passed away but I guess that happens to everyone eventually.

Re: Round 4 HSC CanAm 09

Chester Hill was always fun, Noel Shaw's track was an unusual layout with the hill climb aspect but the track was also rough in terms of its surface and you had to wind motors specific to the track, usually about .490 long stacks and a lot of advance. I remember doing a sprint there and the car was ...

Re: New Fox Chassis - 'Flatboy'

Steve, There was a potential problem with the front wheels that I made and it was evident the last time I went with Mark up to Hornsby for practice. Depending on the weather the track can move at the joins slightly and on the day we turned up some of the track joins were higher on the traling edge t...

Re: Round 4 HSC CanAm 09

stooo, I particularly like the car of yours that I drove up at Peter's track at Tuggerah, I had not learnt how to drive a control that had an adjustable brake pot in it back then so I was not driving the car to its peak performance but it was a very smooth fast car so I am sure you could find a dece...

Re: Round 4 HSC CanAm 09

Great report Fox, shame a few more people didn't turn up but it was still both fun and useful to run the limited race as it allowed me to test out a new idea with a car. I gave the race tested one to Ivan as he is a fast reliable driver and he drove it very well. Unfortunately the motor had gone off...

Re: Round 3 HSC CanAm 09

Paul, That would be great. I would not worry about effecting the scene at Hornsby as the distance is simply too far to have any effect. The other thing is that with more tracks to race on it works to the advantage of the track owners as this generates more people who are interested in racing which i...

Re: Marshalling. A Personal Point of View.

I think an increase in attendance will help solve the problem. Like everyone else I HATE marshalling but if you want to race and have your car marshalled then you put back at least what you take out. Marshalling is an art that not many bother with, I learnt it years ago in endurance racing where you...

Re: Round 3 HSC CanAm 09

Paul,

The track has come up very well. I wonder if you would be interested in runing some D3 racing at some stage in the future ? The track would be real fun for these types of cars.
