Holes in tyres or your wallet

Most people here follow the other slot car forums. There are a few posts about price increases to really insane levels for a pair of wheels. While we generally follow USRA rules as general guideline, we can diverge where it makes sense for us to do so and there is sufficiently broad racer consent. e...

Re: 2014 AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS

Goo applied to wheels. I didn't do it ... but i saw some guys go over to the track and rub their wheels on the track in the concentrated spray goo zones. That's probably going to be hard to ban as the wheels pick up goo from the track anyway. The above practise would have the same same impact as app...

Re: 2014 AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS

Rules, I thought the weekend went pretty good in terms of rules and everything else actually too. (I have to put gear guards back on my chassis though) I thought the only rule that has changed is that you cant put tire goo on the track any more :( hahaha the spray goo worked good. What do you see as...

Re: What makes a good wing car?

Hi Tim,

I just started racing again.

At Hornsby in 27's i ran .004 wings but my 27 car didn't handle that well, it was most likely the chassis but i would to check your experience with the thinner wings?

Re: Bring back goo

Lindsay,

yes i agree i have big investment in G27 multi-mags but i think if we are going to run spray goo we should run the spray glue class rules ie G7 Lite and 27 Lite as you suggest.

Both classes have rules that reduce the required racing investment (cost)

James & Wayne,

track was very fast and consistent Red was great and Blue was great and the power was great too. The nats were a good event and nothing at all went wrong.

Well...... not wrong with the track ...... just my cars. :D

Re: Bring back goo

Often now we have split races as we need to alternate marshalls. Ideally numbers in each race need to be the same but what about a racer optional grading system.

B grade race no goo
A grade race goo

Re: Australian Nats Rotation

I have just thought a bit more about say my situation and i guess this applies to others as well. There are 3 states this means you have to travel twice every three years to attend the nats. The cost of travelling and accomodation at a nats is approx $500. Therefore if there are more races not in no...

Re: Australian Nats Rotation

I think the vote by the racers attending should remain because they are the ones that made the effort to attend and enter the race and will hopefully support the event the next year as well.

I think Lindsay's idea has some merit also.

Re: 2012 BROCK TROPHY RACE

This subject is very difficult and asks Racers to take sides which reduces attendance at both tracks. I like Geoff because he attends a lot races outside VIC and supports the race events and therefore he gets a lot of support from other racers. I like Peter VH because he has a great track and puts o...
