Re: Car off on the main straight.

seems like a good idea - we need to have a track call for the straight based on speed, also so many people pop when they take of on the straight. What do you do if 2 cars are off - just the one that caused the incident or both

Re: wing 12 rule change

Absolutely agree with you Adrian, box 12 should have limits that relate to cost - especially motors. I expect bb to be more cost effective long term than a bronze bush. We are seeing problems now with bushes, again as I said this is not mandated that you need a BB. So whats the difference with racew...

Re: wing 12 rule change

I don't think the ball race is going to change performance a great deal, if any. This is more of a reliability issue, so if you are happy with the bronze bush that you have dont have to change it. Just be warned that with the bank speed and around the back of the track the loads on bearings are grea...

Re: Aug SRC round at Raceworld Australia

Yes I thought is was good and totally enjoyed myself (still think the wing height for retro's is too low to allow fast times). Would love to run the F1's there - pity I have a clash on the date.

Body Colour

Any thoughts on a register of who is running what colours at each race - not a strict thing that if u change colours you cant run - but more of an informal register. This will stop things like a melb OMO race where we have 7 cars and 6 the same colour. Myself - I try and pick colours that other peop...

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say here evor - are you implying PA does not do good bodies.

Re: Holes in tyres or your wallet

My 2 bobs worth - First of all - all class's I raced I used Alpha hards on 500 dia rims - tried large rims in practice with 27 lite and went backwards. (PS I used Alpha hards at Rocky as well) Driving on 500 dia tyres I doubt whether the holes mean didly squat. All tracks bar the central coast 500 d...

Re: 2014 AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS

Just thought I would do a plug here - the Body I used in Grp 7 was from PA Watson - PA does great bodies - he can be contacted via the Texas slot car forum - just google Texas Slot cars and go to Slot cars of Katy.

Re: Retro Driver

Kims Axtons King track, went to Newcastle NSW, then to Fairfield NSW and then I think to the tip. By that stage the slots had worn to the extent that it was no longer viable.

Re: Thoughts Box 12

So if Box 12 is not the entry level class into wing racing - what is ?

Some how, at some stage we need to come up with a simple entry level class to allow growth.

Re: Thoughts Box 12

Will throw one more thought out there, and with this one I dont care either way. However as this is our entry level class should we allow shunts on motors. I think putting shunts on limits some of the newer people and pushes this into a builder class. F2000 guys don't allow shunts and from what I ha...

Thoughts Box 12

Had a discussion after the OZ day race and we seemed to get a consensus of those that were there that continuing with a weight limit in box 12 was not a sensible thing.

We should be able to race the chassis unmodified without the need to put brass pans and add lead.

So what does everyone else think.

Re: What makes a good wing car?

Good tips Tim,

Good to see you doing this.

My last 27 Lite car, Slick 7 4.625 chassis, Alpha Nissan body,

Was also interesting with NSW state titles that had a mix of full 27 and 27 lite cars, 1st & 2nd in both qual and race were both 27 lite.
