2009 Qld Plafit Championships - CanAm and Sports Cars - Rules |

 BODY - Only 1:24 true-to-scale vacuum formed Lexan or PET Body representing historic Can Am Cars as well as historic Sports Cars and Sports Prototype Cars listed on the 2009 Official Body Homologation List (see below). No other bodies are allowed. - Minimum body material thickness is .010”. - Cut out and mounting of body has to reflect the actual 1:1 car. - The presentation of the body (paint design, decals and additional detail parts) has to be as realistic as possible to a 1:1 car of this time. - A minimum two piece driver interior (vacuum formed with separate drivers head) to be used. Interior has to cover all windows and open cockpits. No chassis parts are allowed to be visible.
CHASSIS - Plafit Excel 1300 or 1300U only. - Chassis has to be adjusted according to the body and its dimensions used making sure that all wheels and the guide are covered by the body when viewed from above. - Chassis set-up has to be done only within its design limits and only with the original accessories i.e. changing spring tension or the amount of chassis/body movement. - All original mounting points and basic configuration must be retained. - The Front Chassis Plate 1304C can be shortened only above the two long holes which fit the Front Axle Bracket in order to fit low-front bodies. However both long holes must be retained entirely. - No further chassis modifications other then within its design limits. - No soldering allowed to hold motor into position. Only motor screws are to be used. - Body tape or plastic strip may be used to hold lead wires in place. - Plafit Excel Front Axle Bracket for Axle Ball Bearings 1302B may be used. - Plafit Excel Guide Holder long 1303B may be used. - Nylon Guide Nuts can be used. - Plafit Excel Fine Screw Sets 1313 may be used instead of standard screws. - Plafit Excel Weight Plate Sets 1314 may be used. - Other additional weight may be added as long as it is placed on top of the Chassis, Main Frame, Body H Frame or Side Body Holders. - Plafit Chassis Springs 1320, 1320A or 1320B may be used. - Chassis blue-printing is allowed.
GROUND CLEARANCE - 1.0mm under the entire chassis including gear.
FRONT AXLE - 3mm solid only.
FRONT WHEELS - Standard Plafit 17mm Front Wheel 1231E only. Minimum diameter is 23mm. - Any Hard Sponge Tires non-sealed. - Minimum tire width is 8mm. No independent front wheels allowed.
REAR WHEELS - Standard Plafit 17mm Rear Wheel 8337 with Plafit Black Magic Tire 1342U or 8437BM only. - Minimum dia. is 24mm, maximum width is 13.5mm. - Use of Goo and/or any other tire softener, liquids etc. is not allowed. Cleaning with Shellite only is permitted.
WHEEL INSERTS - 15mm 3D Wheel Inserts have to be used on all wheels at all times.
REAR AXLE - 3mm solid only. - Oilite bushings or ball bearings, must be glued in place. - Maximum rear axle/tire width is 78.0mm.
GEARS - Any plastic 50 pitch spur gears for 3mm axles. - 38 Tooth only.
PINION - Any 50 pitch plastic or brass. - 10 and 12 Tooth only.
MOTOR - Only 13D Plafit Fox II Motor. - Original lettering “PLAFIT FOX II China” has to be visible. - Sealed Motors are not to be opened or modified in any way. - Any lead wire.
